Real stories

Three Austin yards, three stories.

Not stock photos, not staged shots. These are actual families we work with, what we built, what they're eating now, and how long it took.

The Hendersons

Mueller 8 weeks consult to first harvest Four 4x8 cedar beds, one herb spiral

The yard

1/4 acre, full sun east side

The challenge

Clay soil, two big dogs, kids wanted strawberries.

What we built

Raised beds high enough to keep dogs out, dedicated strawberry tower the kids could reach, smart drip on a 6am cycle so the lawn still got morning play time.

What they're harvesting

First year: 40 lbs tomatoes, 12 lbs strawberries, basil all summer, and a pumpkin the kids named Walter.

"The kids fight over who gets to harvest. That alone was worth it."

The Martinez Family

South Lamar 5 weeks consult to first harvest Two 3x6 beds plus container collection

The yard

Townhome courtyard, partial shade

The challenge

Tight space, HOA rules, wanted to cook from the garden weekly.

What we built

Tall narrow beds along the fence, vertical trellis for cucumbers and beans, herb wall mounted on the courtyard wall, all HOA-pre-approved.

What they're harvesting

Salads every week from April through November, plus enough basil to gift jars of pesto to neighbors.

"I used to throw away half my CSA box. Now I just walk outside and grab what we need."

The Okafor Garden

Pflugerville 10 weeks consult to first harvest Six beds, three fruit trees, one pollinator strip

The yard

1/3 acre, mixed sun

The challenge

Wanted a food forest, not just vegetables. Big vision, modest budget.

What we built

Phased install: year one was beds plus three young fruit trees (fig, pomegranate, satsuma). Year two added berry hedge. Year three: pollinator meadow.

What they're harvesting

Year one: weekly salads and herbs. Year three: figs by the bucket, satsumas in December, monarchs in the meadow.

"It's not a garden anymore, it's the part of the house we actually live in."
